Building Knowledge Translation Capacity Among Our Coalitions

To effectively build the KT capacity amongst coalition partners, the KTNET will conduct a KT situation analysis, a training needs assessment, stakeholder mapping, support teams to develop coalition specific communication strategies as well as KT trainings.

 

Training needs assessment- KTNET will initially undertake a training needs assessment for each of the coalition partners. The aim of the training needs assessment will be to identify KT knowledge, skills, as well as abilities needed by coalition partner stakeholders to successfully implement their KT activities. This assessment will include researchers, policy makers, media, civil society, providers and clients.

KT training- KTNET will facilitate customized KT trainings for each of the coalition partners. The purpose of these trainings will be to enhance the capacity of the coalition partners to identify, synthesize, interpret, package and disseminate research products for various audiences as well as translate evidence into policy and action. Additionally, coalition partners will be trained on how to adapt the evidence generated from their research to already existing synthesized evidence. These trainings will include researchers, policy makers, media, civil society, providers and clients.
